Presents "A New Spirituality of Work" Facilitated by Carol Kilby of the Gaia Centre
Friday December 5 - Sunday, December 7, 2009 Work Like You Don't Need The Money - a new Spirituality of Work on the Four Paths of Creation Spirituality. Even though we all need resources to live, there are times when our work or lack of it, causes more stress than you, your family or Earth can afford. There are sometimes when our spirit feels too big for our work. In these times we're awakening to the need for a new spirituality of work, a new definition of what is good work. We need a new way of connecting work to what’s really sacred. Explore the reinvention of work necessary for these times using the Four Paths of Creation Spirituality. In this recovered tradition, work is the manifesting of life itself. if you're retired, retiring, unemployed, seeking meaningful activity; if the still small voice is loudly demanding change; if you want your life to be a legacy, take the time to redefine what we mean by 'work', follow your creative desires, and consider Earth's longings.
Join ancient and modern mystics, December's trees and fields, and Carol Kilby, Director of the Gaia Centre for Eco-Spirituality and Sustainable Work in a co-creative retreat . Together you will explore these topics:
· Work -like Spirit matters. Work- like letting go is progress. · Work - like a playful Artist. · Work-like Life depends on it. · Work- like Celebration.
" Do you think Universe worked for 14.7 billion years to create you if there wasn't a significant role for you to play?" Brian Swimme.
Leader: Carol brings a wealth of experience and passion to this topic. From the fields of therapeutic recreation in chronic and rehabilitation settings, congregational ministry in the United Church, and now retreat leadership she is highly sensitive to the importance of work to our integrity as individuals and as a species. Story telling, body-prayer, hilarity and heart-opening experiences - these are all part her professional skills. Drawing on her doctoral work in creation spirituality with Matthew Fox, Carol brings an appreciation for the ancient wisdom of many traditions to this life-giving program. For more information about this workshop, the Gaia Centre or Carol see www.gaiacentre.org Cost - $295 (includes 2 nights accommodations* and all meals) Work shop only (no accommodations) $200 * note – accommodations are double occupancy |
